400;\">Normally, first home buyers with less than 20% deposit will have to pay Lender Mortgage Insurance LMI (you can read more about LMI in the previous sharing of Flexi Mortgage). However, with the First Home Loan Deposit program, eligible first home buyers can buy or build a new house with only 5% deposit (conditions apply to each bank). The reason that the government guarantees up to 15% of the real estate deposit is financed by eligible home loans.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Based on the 2020-2021 federal budget, the Government announces an additional 10,000 FHLDS rates for fiscal year 2020-2021, especially for eligible first home buyers so they can buy or build a new home with a guaranteed loan.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On February 3, 2021, the Minister of Housing, The Hon Michael Sukkar MP, announced that 1800 FHLDS slots would be re-released.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The government has allocated 27 banks, large and small finance companies that can provide guarantees for the First Home Loan Deposit support program.
